Job Title: EHS Specialist

Haynes International is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal and State, and local EHS regulations with respect to employee health and safety and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct risk assessments and suggest risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures to management.
  • Train and assist others in completing their safety and compliance responsibilities, including audits.
  • Complete, document, and submit required EHS reports and recordkeeping information as needed.
  • Enforce compliance of EHS programs.
  • Respond to emergency situations as they arise.
  • Participate in semi-annual audits to ensure regulatory compliance and distribute reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA, IOSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene air sampling.
  • Attend coordinated safety committee meetings.
  • Assist with incident investigation process.
  • Assist with ISO internal auditing and management system compliance.

Requirements:

  • BS Physical Sciences - Engineering, Safety, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil; Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years of EHS or training support in an industrial setting, EHS compliance, experience in a union environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local EH&S requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI.
  • Industrial Hygiene, HAZCOM, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Ergonomics, Stormwater Compliance, Pollution Prevention, RCRA Reporting, Hazardous Waste Manifesting, Scheduling Experience, Manufacturing or Warehouse Experience.
  • Communications, Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and problem-solving.
