Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our patients. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes and contribute to the advancement of anesthesia care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-anesthetic screenings, including physical evaluations and patient interviews, and document results.
  • Develop anesthesia care plans and select, order, or administer pre-anesthetic medications, anesthetics, drugs, fluids, or blood products as necessary.
  • Prepare prescribed solutions and administer local, intravenous, spinal, or other anesthetics following specified methods and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur.
  • Discharge patients to hospital floor or Surgicenter as necessary.
  • Instruct nurses, residents, interns, students, or other staff on topics such as anesthetic techniques, pain management, and emergency responses.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited CRNA program with a Master's of Science in Nursing Degree or Doctorate of Nurse Practice.
  • Current licenses as a Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Current National Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
What We Offer

The University of Illinois Chicago offers a competitive salary range of $240,000 - $277,000, as well as a sign-on bonus of $18,000. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
