The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting screenings and evaluations, formulating treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, reassessing treatment effectiveness, planning for patient discharge, and maintaining thorough documentation. The Occupational Therapist also contributes to program development and protocol enhancement, supporting the team in achieving defined objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough evaluation services, which involve reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and providing well-documented recommendations. Communicates evaluation results and treatment plans to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in goal-setting processes.
  • Exhibits expertise in executing treatment protocols tailored to evaluation outcomes, patient presentations, and the dynamic healthcare landscape. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary, and identifies changes in patient conditions that may require adjustments to the care plan or further medical consultation.
  • Facilitates effective discharge planning and follow-up care. Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient care activities, reflecting the patient's journey through care, including initial evaluations, daily notes, progress summaries, and discharge assessments.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills and meets productivity benchmarks. Maintains an organized schedule and shows a commitment to providing seamless patient access to care through adaptability, creativity, and empathetic interactions in a patient-centered environment.
  • Proactively engages in continuing education for personal and organizational growth. Serves as a clinical mentor for students and assists in the orientation and training of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure in Maryland, the District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
