Job Summary:

The RN Supervisor coordinates the operations and nursing personnel within the Behavioral Health department, including psychiatry and addiction medicine. This role provides clinical expertise and program management within the behavioral health service line, serving as a liaison and resource to staff members and providing direct patient care as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates daily nursing and staffing activities of the department
  • Monitors and oversees daily nursing workflow, performing staff nurse duties as needed to ensure adequate staffing and delivery of safe patient care
  • Develops and implements departmental and organizational policies and initiatives
  • Provides staff education, competencies, and orientation, as well as bi-yearly evaluations
  • Ensures staff members are adequately trained and competent to perform all required job tasks
  • Resolves work-related issues and assists employees in solving work-related issues
  • Provides and facilitates competent healthcare of patients and families in the area of practice
  • Develops, implements, and participates in Quality Improvement initiatives and performs quality audits as directed/needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in Illinois
  • National Nursing Certification within 3 years
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing
