Position Overview:

Upstate University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to provide outreach athletic training services to local high schools and colleges in coordination with physicians at Upstate Orthopedics. This is a unique opportunity to work with student athletes and provide top-notch care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide athletic training services to local high schools and colleges, including injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with physicians at Upstate Orthopedics to provide patient care support in a clinic setting.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs for student athletes.
  • Conduct athletic training sessions, including pre-participation physicals and post-injury evaluations.
  • Document injuries and illnesses, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and parents to ensure seamless care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest athletic training techniques and best practices.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Current BOC Athletic Training Certification.
  • Current NYS Athletic Training Licensure from the Department of Education.
  • BLS CPR/AED Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high school or college athletic teams.
  • Knowledge of athletic training software and electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Work Environment:

This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to travel to local high schools and colleges to provide athletic training services.

 

Salary Information:

The salary for this position is $55,341 - $64,272 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
