Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director, Mission Advancement at Best Buddies International Inc.

This role involves building the volunteer infrastructure within states, developing and implementing state events, securing foundation and grant opportunities, and managing local staff, advisory boards, and associated committees.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, and staff supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement statewide strategies for securing sustainable funding.
  • Assume overall operational management responsibility for all fundraising activities statewide.
  • Manage local advisory board, including recruitment, training, and retention of committee and board members.
  • Identify, cultivate, and develop volunteers capable of making personal commitments and becoming directly involved in the solicitation process.
  • Develop and implement major fundraising events to meet revenue goals.
  • Research grant opportunities and cultivate relationships with local funders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years' relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of fundraising experience, including event planning and donor cultivation.
  • Experience working with volunteers and boards.
  • Staff management experience.
  • SUPERIOR PERSUASIVE WRITING AND PRESENTATION SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
  • Superior project management skills.
  • Ability to travel, use personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Access to an automobile with insurance.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 per year.

Location: Varies (within state).
