POSITION SUMMARY:

The Revenue Cycle Specialist II plays a crucial role in managing various essential functions within the Central Business Office.

This position requires the individual to have demonstrated proficiency in at least one specific area of the Central Business Office for a minimum of two years.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Following up on insurance claims, managing self-pay accounts, processing payments, correcting and adjusting accounts, addressing patient inquiries regarding their accounts, and monitoring billing discrepancies and claim rejections.

This role also involves providing foundational training for all Central Business Office duties in an introductory capacity.

The position is structured to prepare the incumbent for advancement to the Revenue Cycle Specialist III after an additional two years of satisfactory performance, during which the individual must be capable of managing all functions of at least one unit within the Central Business Office.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
No specific licenses or certifications are mandated by law.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Moderate understanding of various third-party insurance plans, including HMO, PPO, POS, and Indemnity. Familiarity with the Medicare Program, particularly concerning CPT and ICD9 coding, is essential. A comprehensive understanding of Medicare Fraud and Abuse regulations is also required.

The candidate should possess the ability to provide financial counseling to patients regarding their outstanding balances and effectively resolve issues while upholding a positive public image for the organization.

A moderate level of knowledge of the Next Gen Practice Management system is expected, along with a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations.

This role necessitates proficiency in the computer systems utilized within the practice, including the Practice Management System, relevant internet applications, and Microsoft Office tools.
