Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Head of Beam Pumping Unit Products at Lufkin US Acquisition Company LLC will oversee the formulation and implementation of a strategic roadmap aimed at enhancing growth in Beam Pumping Unit (BPU) offerings and associated services, including aftermarket components. This role involves leading pivotal business development initiatives, commercial strategies, and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs that bolster the product lines through collaboration with Regional and Functional Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Steer the BPU product line, ensuring P&L accountability and guidance across various functions such as Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing, in conjunction with the Services team.
  • Analyze market dynamics and formulate product strategies accordingly.
  • Oversee one or more product portfolios, prioritizing product development and establishing NPI program budgets.
  • Maintain the competitiveness of existing products by comprehending customer requirements and market shifts, translating these insights into actionable strategies.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking of new products from rivals and relevant suppliers to uncover new market opportunities.
  • Foster strong customer relationships, collaborating closely with clients to address their challenges.
  • Engage in customer discussions and provide insights to aid in the development of a Multi-Generational Product Plan.
  • Manage NPI and Product Line Development initiatives effectively.
  • Drive NPI programs to adhere to scheduled milestones and technology tollgates.
  • Formulate business cases to justify investments in new initiatives that align with regional, product, and customer objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of materials for NPI investment tollgates.
  • Participate in design evaluations for NPI projects.
  • Benchmark development and implementation timelines, identifying areas for enhancement and lessons learned.
  • Champion the Product Brand.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of promotional strategies that elevate Lufkin's visibility, including participation in industry trade shows, promotional materials, and advertising in trade publications.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to devise tools and strategies for project launches and to meet product sales requirements.
  • Ensure operational excellence in integrity, health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years in product or project management roles.
  • Willingness to travel less than 25% of the time for customer meetings and industry events.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of an MBA from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing a vision, strategy, and executing business plans, with a capability for planning and implementing significant initiatives.
  • Proven leadership abilities in a cross-functional setting and experience in team management.
  • Track record of customer-centric problem-solving.
  • Ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
  • Expertise in Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving methodologies (Green or Black Belt).
  • Familiarity with related products, services, and market landscapes.
