Highline Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work with students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, providing individualized instruction and support to help them achieve their academic and social goals.
Responsibilities- Design and implement educational programs that cater to the unique needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Collaborate with sign language interpreters to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving in inclusive settings.
- Develop and supervise internships, community service, and vocational learning opportunities to enhance students' skills and independence.
- Train and supervise paraprofessional staff to deliver high-quality support services.
- Work closely with general education teachers, literacy/math coaches, and other service providers to plan and program for a wide range of student needs.
- Valid Washington State teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement (K-12) and a core subject area endorsement.
- Experience in serving students with mild to severe disabilities.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of insurance.
