About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Certified Fetal Echo Specialist to join our team of highly specialized healthcare professionals. As a key member of our Maternal-Fetal Diagnostic Center, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to women and babies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients, working closely with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the process.
  • Explain procedures to patients, providing education and support to help them understand their care.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and sonographic data, ensuring timely and secure transmission to interpreting physicians.
  • Code services performed, submitting completed billing worksheets daily, and notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action to ensure optimal performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect.
Requirements
  • Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician in OB/GYN and/or MFM settings, with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment, with the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent, and ARDMS OB/GYN certification or eligibility.
  • Fetal echo certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire, with preference for prior experience or training.
  • CPR certification required, with completion of a program containing OB/GYN ultrasonography.
