Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of emergency standby generators, automatic transfer switches, and other related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment, including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
- Service calls as needed and dispatched by branch service manager.
- Complete job notes and any parts requests immediately at the conclusion of all service visits.
- Knowledge of testing and troubleshooting various sized generators.
- Drive safely at all times and maintain a clean and orderly company service truck.
- A high school degree is required and some college or technical school is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Solid understanding of basic generator and electrical distribution principles.
- Service experience with gaseous and/or diesel generator sets.
- Service experience with automatic transfer switches and paralleling switchgear preferred.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Candidate must own or be able to obtain a personal set of basic hand tools (proprietary specialty tools and company service vehicle will be provided by the company).
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing using the English language.
