Press Brake/Machine Operator

Description:
The Press Brake Operator is a key member of our manufacturing team, responsible for setting up and operating 1 of 6 brake press machines. This role requires strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to visualize complex parts. Experience operating a press brake is a plus, but not required. Overtime may be required during busy periods.
Essential Job Functions:
- Safety Sensitive position.
- Set up and operate machines such as brakes, rolls, sheers, saws, and presses.
- Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Learn the controller on the brake press and adjust bend programs as needed.
- Lift metal parts weighing up to 50lbs.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned area and adhere to all safety standards.
- Support other departments as necessary.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the Shop Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficient basic math skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and vendors.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Trained in lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Demonstrate hands-on shop floor experience in both metal and wood manufacturing.
- Minimum of one (1) year of machine or press brake operating experience.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; regularly push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; walk and stand for long periods of time; and grasp and manipulate objects.
Work Environment:
- The working conditions are on the manufacturing plant floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
