Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient operation of our endoscopy lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain competencies in the reprocessing of endoscopes and operating the scope washers.
  • Identify and report any issues with the integrity of the endoscopes and assist in orchestrating repair.
  • Manage inventory and documentation regarding the repair of endoscopes.
  • Ensure proper patient identification procedures are followed when transporting patients.
  • Transport patients safely using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Support the efficient operation of the endoscopy lab by expediting on-time starts and turnover between procedures.
  • Locate, obtain, and restock endotherapy supplies and equipment.
  • Perform technical and manual services under the direction of a physician and/or nurse.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Assist nurses in preparing patients prior to and after procedures.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR - Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree.
