KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops testing strategies and methodologies to validate new or enhanced functionalities.
  • Collaborates with team members to break down functional and non-functional requirements into actionable test scripts and scenarios.
  • Identifies test dependencies, including QA environments, tools, training, deployment plans, and communication processes.
  • Creates and executes both manual and automated test scripts to ensure acceptance criteria are met.
  • Develops manual test cases for all requirements and works with development teams to pinpoint candidates for automation.
  • Recognizes risks that may affect timely product delivery and collaborates on mitigation strategies.
  • Conducts smoke, functional, integration, and non-functional testing as part of the product lifecycle.
  • Works with team members to diagnose the root causes of failed tests.
  • Documents defects with detailed information, including supporting evidence.
  • Collaborates to identify existing test scripts that may be affected by new features.
  • Provides feedback on the quality of deliverables during retrospectives.
  • Manages defect remediation throughout the development lifecycle and generates quality reports for stakeholders.
  • Works with product teams to define automation strategies for products.
  • Establishes testing protocols and standards to enhance testing outcomes and shares best practices.
  • Creates test data to facilitate functional and non-functional testing.
  • Develops and executes automated test scripts to improve team efficiency.
  • Maintains the automated testing suite and framework for products.
  • Collaborates with team members to integrate new automated tests into the continuous integration pipeline.
  • Shares automation practices to promote early testing within the development process.
  • Designs, develops, and executes comprehensive software test strategies and plans.
  • Codes and documents automated test cases to meet business requirements using primarily Selenium with Java.
  • Participates in planning and retrospective meetings.
  • Provides accurate estimates as requested by project management.
  • Troubleshoots test runs and environments, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Executes automated tests, investigates failures, and reports results.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 4 years in QA, focusing on manual and automated testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in UI automation testing using Selenium or similar tools.
  • Recent experience in Java or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with API testing and back-end testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of multi-tier application architecture.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL.
  • Knowledge of XML/JSON and web services (SOAP/RESTful).
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • A proactive learning attitude.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Knowledge of test tool development.
  • Understanding of Service Oriented and Microservices Architectures.
  • Experience with mobile and responsive web testing.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Apache, TFS, IntelliJ, Maven, Git, Junit, Jenkins, Splunk, SOAPUI, SauceLabs.
  • Experience in accessibility testing.
  • Knowledge of travel industry technologies, including third-party data integrations.
