Key Responsibilities- Deliver and oversee direct patient care, including thorough physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans tailored to a specific patient demographic.
- Prescribe medications and treatment protocols based on evaluated medical conditions.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists and healthcare services as necessary.
- Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure high-quality care.
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with both staff and patients.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Medical Director to support clinic objectives.
- Participate in care team responsibilities as outlined in the Care Team Patient Centered Medical Home Procedures.
- Execute other assigned duties as required.
- Must hold a valid and unrestricted medical license issued by the Medical Board of California.
- Board certification or eligibility in the relevant medical specialty is required.
- Medical Doctor with 3-5 years of relevant experience, including residency in a related medical environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
- Current DEA registration for prescribing medications is essential.
- Experience in community health or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) is advantageous.
- CPR certification is required.
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) is preferred.
- Commitment to Continuing Medical Education (CME) as mandated for certification renewals.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a post-offer, post-employment physical examination and medical history review.
- Ability to observe, assess, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress effectively.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards in medical care delivery.
- Capacity to manage an average of 20 patients daily during full-time shifts.
- Understanding of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, along with the ability to prescribe and instruct patients on their use.
- Awareness of community medical diagnostic and patient care services within the area of expertise.
- Ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Familiarity with current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of expertise.
- Capability to supervise, lead, advise, and mentor clinical professionals, including PAs, FNPs, and students.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination and booster requirements as a condition of employment, with proof of vaccination required prior to the first day of work.
