Position Overview:

In collaboration with the Plant Manager and the Director of Industrial Engineering, the Continuous Improvement Operations Leader plays a pivotal role in the execution of Lean methodologies and ongoing enhancement initiatives across all stages of Lean. This leader is responsible for guiding operational and support team leaders in the deployment and execution of Lean practices, problem-solving techniques, and facilitating change management to ensure Lean principles are effectively integrated throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the charge in Lean implementation across the facility.
• Develop and refine processes that identify, document, and minimize waste in all forms throughout the value chain, impacting quality, throughput, efficiency, and cost.
• Coordinate projects aimed at the rollout of Lean processes.
• Mentor leadership and frontline employees in Lean practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Guide and assist teams in establishing and managing Engineering controls of Lean Gates to support Lean processes.
• Provide insights to management regarding waste trends, patterns, and potential opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee online waste reduction initiatives to ensure adherence to Lean manufacturing principles, including built-in quality, schedule control, and efficient resource utilization.
• Conduct problem-solving initiatives and improvement projects focused on waste reduction.
• Facilitate data analysis related to waste management and Lean Gates.
• Manage Lean metric reporting, creating and distributing gate management reports.
• Develop a governance framework for plant leadership to transition ownership to relevant functional leaders and monitor progress.
• Perform daily audits of Lean processes to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Ensure effective communication of feedback to all levels of work teams when issues arise.
• Support project change management efforts in the implementation of Lean across the facility and other support areas, engaging impacted employees.
• Collaborate with other functions as necessary, including training, Model Line events, and various improvement projects.
• Organize Lean visits from leadership and representatives from other facilities.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, quality, management, or business).
Experience: 3-5+ years of pertinent experience in engineering and/or manufacturing or a comparable combination of education and training.
• Strong process-oriented mindset and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage others.
• Experience in coaching, facilitation, and leadership; prior Lean experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions.
• Exceptional analytical capabilities; skilled in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Customer service-oriented with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required.

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) occasionally and maneuver large parts and assemblies (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
Work Environment: Employees are required to adhere to company dress code policies and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) due to potential hazards such as scrapes, punctures, cuts, and exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials. Employees may share workspace and equipment with others.
