Overview

Pavilion 8, an Intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms, is committed to providing exceptional patient care. Our surgical services include ENT, Vascular, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Urology.

Our leadership structure, comprising a clinical director, assistant clinical director, clinical nurse managers, and clinical educator, is dedicated to supporting our staff and ensuring patient safety.

Pavilion 8 is supported by our unit secretaries, critical care technicians, and registered nurses seven days a week. We strive to have all our nurses cross-trained in surgical intermediate within the first year at Cooper.

Pavilion-8 fosters a close relationship with our providers, with APNs and Surgical Residents easily accessible for support, questions, and guidance with patient care.

Job Summary

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They supervise and provide care to these patients using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
  • Provides excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
  • Applies Cooper core values.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing.

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS).
