PRIMARY ROLE:
The Registered Nurse serves as a professional caregiver, taking responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients over a specific timeframe. This role involves delivering care through therapeutic engagement, the nursing process, environmental management, and collaboration with other healthcare team members. The RN is expected to execute their responsibilities in accordance with established care standards and the core values defined by the Division of Nursing, reporting to the assigned Unit Director.

- Conducts ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection, focusing on the physiological, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.**
- Evaluates assessment data to establish appropriate nursing diagnoses.**
- Identifies expected outcomes tailored to the individual patient.**
- Develops a goal-oriented care plan, prioritized based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.**

Current nursing licensure in New York State, limited permit, or eligibility. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Significant physical effort is required; lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various sizes and capabilities. Some lifting, reaching, and stooping are necessary. The role requires being on feet for much of the time.
