Job Summary

As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing proficient patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory.
  • Act as a role model and resource for other staff members.
  • Verify functioning and adequate availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to the surgical procedure.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with 2-4 years of experience preferred.
