Job Overview

Position: Radar Test Engineer

The Radar Test Engineer role is a full-time opportunity focused on supporting various testing events related to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The selected candidate will engage in Integrated Ground Tests (GTIs), Distributed Ground Tests (GTDs), and Flight Test (FT) activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and verification of radar mission data and testing scenarios;
  • Analyze radar systems through simulation software, ensuring alignment of simulation outcomes with test case designs and objectives;
  • Document and report any anomalies or errors identified in simulation software;
  • Contribute to the development of CONOPs, Radar Operator Procedures, and documentation of Lessons Learned;
  • Create Quick-Look reports, perform data analysis, and communicate readiness of post-test products to analysts and mission leads;
  • Manage and maintain radar representations within formal BMDS ground test laboratories;
  • Collaborate with the Test Execution Controller (TEC) or Mission Manager during testing events;
  • Facilitate pre-test and post-test meetings to discuss status and review outcomes or issues;
  • Coordinate with clients regarding asset or team availability for testing;
  • Present progress reports to the Mission Manager and/or Mission Lead.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science is mandatory;
  • A minimum of 5 years of testing experience is essential, preferably with Department of Defense (DoD) systems;
  • Strong understanding of radar principles, including detection, tracking, discrimination, and resource management is highly preferred;
  • Familiarity with BMDS supporting sensors and weapon systems is advantageous;
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux Operating Systems is required;
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or other scripting languages is a plus;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential;
  • Ability to organize and manage personnel and critical workflows to deliver timely work products.

Security Clearance

  • Candidate must possess an active SECRET security clearance;
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Travel Requirements

  • This position may necessitate travel for extended durations to support distributed ground tests and/or flight test deployments.
