Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Final Assembly Technician to join our team at RAE Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and installing commercial and industrial HVAC & refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mount all major components and install interconnecting piping
  • Solder and pressure test equipment to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions
  • Operate various equipment and tools, including pipe cutters, threaders, and torches
  • Check work and ensure quality, matching equipment serial numbers to engineering drawings and bills of material
  • Sign off all administrative paperwork when job is completed
  • Locate and obtain all necessary equipment, tools, and parts for the job
  • Determine the most efficient unit layout based on engineering drawings and equipment functionality
  • Layout equipment for easy serviceability and contribute to team effort by working with others
  • Complete tasks as assigned by supervisor and comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • A high school level of education is preferred for this position
  • Ability to understand directions from superiors and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and listening skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch
  • Ability to control operations of equipment or system and monitor/assess performance to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Good people skills to work in teams with others in the organization
Working Environment

This position is performed in an industrial production area with constant exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level is high in some areas, and extreme temperatures are experienced in both winter and summer. Possible stress caused by meeting deadlines and product quality standards, as well as seasonal variations in hours worked based on production demands.

Physical Requirements

Sustained use of eyesight for functions such as visual inspection, reading, measuring, and operating hand tools, along with the ability to see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision) in order to maintain employee safety. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and substantial movement of wrist, hands, fingers.
