We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our team at the County of Siskiyou, CA. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Services department, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse.
Job Summary:The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor will provide paraprofessional and treatment support services to county Behavioral Health clients in the alcohol and drug program. This includes providing counseling and educational services, developing and facilitating client services and case management plans, and performing related work as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide counseling and educational services to individuals, families, and groups
- Develop and facilitate client services and case management plans
- Provide support in clinic and community settings
- Communicate with, listen to, and observe clients in individual/group counseling sessions
- Obtain information to assess clients' needs and formulate treatment plans
- Evaluate client progress and prepare and maintain case records and documentation
- Facilitate client services by providing assistance in securing housing, employment, child care, and transportation
- May assist with development and implementation of specialized prevention and recovery support activities
- Certification as a Registered Alcohol Drug Technician I or II (RADT-I/II) or Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor-Certified Addiction Specialist (CADC-CAS) by the State of California
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid and appropriate driver's license
- 12 paid holidays per year, plus 3 floating holidays
- Two weeks of vacation per year during the first five years of service
