We are seeking a Certified Medication Aide to assist our care team. The facility is located in a great location near Smyrna Market Village. If you are a team player, courteous, and professional, and enjoy working in memory care, this opportunity is for you.

Job Responsibilities

The Certified Medication Aide provides medications, personal care, and non-personal care assistance to residents when needed. They assist residents to maintain independent living for as long as possible, promoting independence while giving assistance, companionship, and engaging meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director, RCC, and coordinators to assist with care and medications
  • Escorts residents to various areas of the facility
  • Changes beds, gives showers or baths, and assists with dressing
  • Assists with care needs during community outings and events
  • Keeps the Executive Director and/or RCC informed of residents' status
  • Supports facility staff in providing engaging and meaningful activities
  • May transport members/clients on outings and appointments

Requirements:

  • Current GA CMA certification
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively with members/clients, family, and staff, and perform simple arithmetic
  • Ability to document care given
  • Excellent assessment skills
  • Ability to assist with the transferring of members/clients weighing 50 pounds or more using a transfer belt, mechanical lift, or with the assistance of others

Working Conditions:

The Certified Medication Aide must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to access files and various documentation. They must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.

Education:

  • High school diploma (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Nursing Aide (Required)
  • Certified Medication Aide (Required)
  • CPR/First Aid (Required)

Shift Availability:

  • 1st Shift 7am-7pm
  • 2nd Shift 7pm-7am
