CDR Companies is a comprehensive engineering firm specializing in transportation planning, design, and project management. We are currently seeking a Lead Highway Engineering Project Manager to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee a range of intricate design and planning tasks across multiple projects. This role will include leading teams, ensuring quality control, and checking the work of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as Project Manager and Work Group Leader for medium to large-scale projects.
2. Supervise highway and traffic engineering design tasks performed by the project team, including coordination with subconsultants.
3. Execute complex design tasks, including both preliminary and final design, engineering calculations, specifications, cost assessments, and documentation.
4. Monitor project performance in terms of quality, schedule adherence, and budget management.
5. Prepare contract documents, plans, and sketches using approved design software.
Leadership and Communication:
1. Provide primary communication interface with clients, ensuring their needs are met.
2. Oversee project budgets, prepare forecasts, and manage technical proposals.
3. Conduct and document meetings with clients and coordinate efforts with subconsultants.
Quality Assurance:
1. Maintain high standards of performance and inspection within the established profitability goals.
2. Drive improvements that enhance project efficiency and profit margins.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in highway/traffic/water resource design.
3. Professional Engineer License in good standing or the ability to obtain it within the first six months of employment.
4. Proficient in relevant engineering software, including Bentley MicroStation CADD, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
