Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Van/Bus Driver to join our team at Rural Community Transportation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing reliable and high-quality transportation services to our passengers.
Key Responsibilities- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and industry best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, using the wheelchair lift as necessary.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and reports, including transportation manifests and daily mileage logs.
- Vermont Driver's License (without violations on record)
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B with passenger endorsement (preferred)
- Ability to drive safely in all weather conditions and for extended periods of time
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining passenger confidentiality
This position requires regular attendance, with occasional weekend and extended hours as needed. You will be required to work in a variety of environments, including vehicles and a professional office setting, and may be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
Physical and Other Requirements- Must be free of the influence of medication or other substances that could impair reaction time
- Must meet FTA requirements pertaining to substance use and related testing
- Must comply with safety procedures and protocols, employing industry best practices for driving
