Job Title: Psychiatrist

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to individuals receiving substance use treatment under the auspices of the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Document all direct medical and psychiatric service activity and prepare progress reports and assessment information as required.
Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice in New York State.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Demonstrated experience in treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Competencies:
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology and medication management for substance use disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
