Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our team at the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. As a key member of our Department of Tribal Health, you will play a critical role in providing counseling and advocacy services to Native Americans struggling with chemical dependency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide licensed counseling and advocacy services to clients with substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with Washington State Department of Health guidelines.
  • Facilitate group therapy and individual counseling sessions, including Relapse Prevention Group.
  • Provide educational presentations on chemical dependency, behavioral health, and related topics.
  • Coordinate clinical activities with treatment teams and other staff members.
  • Refer clients to outside treatment agencies and services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including securing background information and filing case materials.
  • Attend clinical staff meetings and provide formal presentations as required.
  • Collaborate with other social service agencies to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Ensure implementation of assessment, treatment, continuing care, transfer, and discharge plans in accordance with WAC requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Professional credentials as a Substance Use Disorder Professional, registered through the State of Washington Department of Health.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Chemical Dependency addiction as it applies to the Native American population.
  • Experience working with Native American communities and cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
