Substance Use Disorder Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our team at the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. As a key member of our Department of Tribal Health, you will play a critical role in providing counseling and advocacy services to Native Americans struggling with chemical dependency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide licensed counseling and advocacy services to clients with substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with Washington State Department of Health guidelines.
- Facilitate group therapy and individual counseling sessions, including Relapse Prevention Group.
- Provide educational presentations on chemical dependency, behavioral health, and related topics.
- Coordinate clinical activities with treatment teams and other staff members.
- Refer clients to outside treatment agencies and services as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including securing background information and filing case materials.
- Attend clinical staff meetings and provide formal presentations as required.
- Collaborate with other social service agencies to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Ensure implementation of assessment, treatment, continuing care, transfer, and discharge plans in accordance with WAC requirements.
- Associate's degree in Human Services or related field.
- Professional credentials as a Substance Use Disorder Professional, registered through the State of Washington Department of Health.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Knowledge of Chemical Dependency addiction as it applies to the Native American population.
- Experience working with Native American communities and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
