Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Transport

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Pediatric Transport team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill or injured infants and children during interfacility transports.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Transport will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory care for assigned patients under the direction of the Transport Medical Control Physician. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory practice and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage respiratory care for critically ill or injured infants and children during interfacility transports
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients based on their unique needs and medical conditions
  • Collaborate with the Transport RN and Transport Medical Control Physician to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the transport process
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Illinois
  • 2+ years of experience in pediatric respiratory care
  • Strong understanding of respiratory practice and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
