Surgical Pathology Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Pathology Technician to join our team at Mass General Brigham in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
About the JobThe estimated annual salary for this position is $90,000 - $125,000, depending on experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, verifying, and entering patient medical record information into our laboratory information system. You will also be responsible for generating barcode labels, labeling surgical specimens, and ensuring quality assurance by cross-checking specimen cassettes with correct specimens.
Additionally, you will provide instruction for pathology residents in surgical pathology technique and orient and train medical residents, students, and less advanced technicians in Pathology Gross Room procedures.
Responsibilities- Receive, verify, and enter patient medical record information into LIS.
- Generate barcode labels and label surgical specimens.
- Ensure quality assurance by cross-checking specimen cassettes with correct specimens.
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in biology, chemistry, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in grossing surgical specimens preferred.
