Nurse Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension.
• Screen patients prior to procedures for any precautions or contraindications.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatment and examination of patients.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients.

Department Support:

• Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities.
• Assist in establishing, evaluating, and updating patient care standards.
• Maintain patient monitoring equipment and nursing equipment.

Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic.

Preferred:

• Bilingual.
• Experience in outpatient radiology.
