About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at East River Medical Imaging. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and request removal of metal objects hazardous to patients and equipment
  • Position patients on examining tables and place coils close to areas of interest, following protocols requested by radiologists
  • Enter data into computer systems, including patient history, anatomical areas to be scanned, and orientation
  • Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort during examinations
  • View images on display screens to ensure quality and adjust as needed
  • Administer contrast agents under the guidance of radiologists
  • Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during exams
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and comply with facility policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 6-12 months of related experience and/or training
  • ARRT-MR certification, NYS RT License with Injection, and active BLS training
  • Continuing education requirements for registered technologists
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.

The physical demands of the job include regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

The employee must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
