About the RoleThis is a senior-level position that requires extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the metals industry. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex automation systems, including drive and power technology.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Upgrade Expertise: Provide guidance on DC and AC drive upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Power System Review: Conduct thorough reviews of basic power system requirements for drive feeders and protection, guaranteeing optimal performance.
- Regulator Performance Analysis: Outline regulator performance and response based on process applications, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Metal Industry Expertise: Share your technical expertise in metal industry applications, such as melting, casting, or rolling mill processes, throughout project life cycles.
- Technical Support: Offer support for existing installed systems, resolving challenging technical issues through process knowledge, data analysis, and implementation.
- Engineering Development: Complete assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Interface and communicate with local project teams, internal experts, customers, and suppliers to provide engineering solutions to technical issues and project-related matters.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers during project design and execution.
- On-Site Commissioning: Perform on-site commissioning and training as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering: Hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Possess extensive experience in an engineering role within the metals or a similar industry.
- Automation and Power Systems: Have experience with automation, power, and drive systems.
- Automation Practices: Familiarity with automation practices and ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong computer skills.
