Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated School Leader to join our team at ACCEL Schools. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the instructional and administrative efforts of our school, ensuring the success of our students and the achievement of our academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive instructional program that aligns with our school's mission and goals.
    • Lead the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials.
    • Provide coaching and support to teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
    • Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and evaluate teachers and other staff members to ensure they are meeting their job responsibilities and performance expectations.
    • Develop and implement professional development programs to support teacher growth and student achievement.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
    • Provide coaching and support to teachers to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Organizational Leadership
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including facilities management, information technology, and student data management.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the school.
    • Collaborate with other school leaders and staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
    • Provide leadership and support to teachers and other staff members to ensure they are meeting their job responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Community Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage with the local community and build relationships with parents and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs that support student achievement and community engagement.
    • Provide leadership and support to teachers and other staff members to ensure they are meeting their job responsibilities and performance expectations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; advanced degree in Education or related field preferred.
    • Current valid Principal and Teacher license required.
    • Two or more years of experience in successful school administration/instructional leadership in an urban setting.

    • Demonstrated experience raising student achievement among a diverse group of learners, including low-income students, non-native English speakers, students of color, and other traditionally underserved populations.
    • Knowledge of/experience with innovative school designs and instructional models, including those featuring 21st Century learning strategies like blended, inquiry, problem/project-based, and personalized learning.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong, experienced manager with excellent leadership and team-building skills.
