Job Summary

The City of Port Washington is seeking highly skilled Firefighter/Paramedics to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and fire protection services to the community. You will work closely with a dedicated team of personnel to respond to emergency calls, provide advanced life support, and engage in community risk reduction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency calls and provide advanced life support as a licensed EMT-Paramedic.
  • Perform firefighting activities, including fire containment and extinguishment, laying hose, and conducting technical rescues.
  • Engage in community risk reduction activities, including building inspections, hydrant checks, and fire prevention programs.
  • Maintain fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities, performing minor repairs as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in emergency medical services and firefighting. You should also have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a Wisconsin Driver's License, Wisconsin Firefighter I certification, and EMT-Paramedic certification within 6 months of hire. Additional certifications, such as Wisconsin Firefighter II and Driver-Operator, are also desirable.
