Heavy Equipment Operator

We are looking for experienced Heavy Civil Operators for our Apex project site in Cleveland, NC.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform all work in a safe manner, complying with safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.
- Understand when to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE).
- Frequently work with heavy equipment requiring skill and care to protect lives.
- Ability to perform all assigned tasks in a safe and effective manner.
- Work safely while operating equipment in the completion of new construction, maintenance, or repair work of civil site features.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications pertaining to civil and erosion control construction and maintenance.
- Capable of safely operating haul truck, compactor, skid steer, farm tractor, and cart.
- Must be able to properly grease, fuel, and maintain equipment.
- Must be able to communicate issues with equipment.
- Must be able to inspect equipment to ensure safe operations.
- Ability to understand and communicate information and work in a team environment.
- Maintain company vehicles and tools in good working order.
- Perform necessary maintenance and housekeeping on or around construction sites.
- Understand the proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Must demonstrate BRP employee competencies (Grit, Collaboration, Ownership, Creativity).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 2+ years' experience operating bulldozers, excavators, haul trucks, or a combination of the mentioned equipment.
- This position involves Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, lift, and grab; reach with hands and arms; push and pull; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; talk, see clearly, and hear.
- Work is performed outside and includes exposure to extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, and noise.
- Must have the endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard ten (10) or twelve (12) hour day according to the schedule.
- Be on time and ready to work at the start of each standard shift.
- Must always wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses, ear protection, fire retardant clothing, as required) and respirators when required.
