Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dance Instructor to join our team in the City of Fremont Recreation Services Division. This is a part-time position that requires planning, preparing, and instructing recreation activities for children aged 4-17.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and submitting lesson plans, leading organized activities to develop youth academic, recreational, and social skills, and providing constructive feedback on activities, camps, and events. They will also be required to interact professionally with parents, students, and staff, and participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and submit lesson plans, including class content and material needs;
  • Lead organized activities to develop and strengthen youth academic, recreational, and social skills;
  • Plan lessons and activities so they are appropriate to students with various abilities;
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on activities, camps, and events;
  • Conduct creative and safe class meetings, instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies, tools, and equipment;
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities and equipment;
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, students, and staff;
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding classroom needs;
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of 18 years of age, one school year teaching experience, and at least one year's experience working with children in an academic setting. They must also be able to handle sensitive and/or stressful situations or information with tact, discretion, and significant awareness of confidentiality, effectively communicate with adults and children from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and comply with suspected child abuse reporting requirements.
