Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Lee Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our laboratory by performing a variety of clinical lab testing and clerical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform moderate complex testing in accordance with state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Verify, process, and prepare specimens for testing, and read microscopy slides and report results in EPIC.
  • Assist with staff competency requirements and complete equipment maintenance and quality control activities.
  • Successfully perform Proficiency Testing as required.
  • Perform clerical duties, including operation of office equipment and basic computer skills in the electronic medical record.
  • Prioritize workload and demonstrate flexibility to meet customer and departmental needs.
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate good customer service throughout the health system.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • State of Florida Medical Technician License required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, problem solve, and work independently.
