Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Analyst to join our team at Advocates. As a Security Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring our computer systems, networks, and cloud environments for security issues.

• Review and triage security alerts and identify events that require follow-up.
• Monitor computer networks and systems for threats and security breaches.
• Install, configure, and maintain security systems, including monitoring software, antivirus, SIEM, IDP packages, firewalls, and other security devices.
• Perform research on new and emerging threats, and how to counter/mitigate them.
• Assist with evaluating new hardware and software systems to ensure they comply with Advocates' security standards.
• Assist with performing periodic reviews of our organization's overall IT security posture and recommend changes where appropriate.
• Assist with penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
• Assist in developing systems and processes for IT security best practices throughout the organization.
• Assist in preparing reports on IT security incidents.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, with a preferred focus on security.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to research and present information on complex topics.
• Knowledge and understanding of Network, Application, and Cloud Systems security.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic networking functions such as Firewalls, Switches, Routers, IPv4/6, and DNS.
• Prefer knowledge and understanding of Incident Response processes and practices.
• Prefer familiarity with Microsoft's on-premises operating systems, and applications such as Active Directory, Endpoint Manager, and Office.
• Prefer familiarity with the Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem including Azure Active Directory, Defender for Endpoints, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Driver's license and access to operational and insured vehicle.
• Strongly prefer candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
