The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing breastfeeding information and assistance to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide breastfeeding information and assistance to clients, including anticipatory education and support group meetings.
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and provide guidance.
- Collaborate with our nutrition team to provide comprehensive support to clients.
- Identify potential problems and refer clients to our designated breastfeeding experts as needed.
- Recruit clients for nutrition education classes and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Participate in community outreach events and promote breastfeeding awareness.
- Ability to prepare pre-clinic paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity.
- Office experience with public contact, keyboarding, filing, and organizing workload.
- Experience in health fairs and community activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other agencies.
- Experience in healthcare settings and/or occupations.
