Agricultural Outreach Specialist

We are seeking an Agricultural Outreach Specialist to join our team at Farm Bureau Financial Services. As an Agricultural Outreach Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting agriculture and engaging with our community.

• Maintain regular contact with supervisors regarding Farm Bureau activities
• Research, prepare, and submit articles to the newsletter
• Maintain a social media presence on important platforms
• Develop and coordinate outreach efforts as directed by the County Board of Directors
• Assist Ag in the Classroom Coordinator as needed
• Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors, including preparation of documents and materials for meetings
• Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business
• Serve as a positive liaison between supervisors, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies
• Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman
• Update and manage membership data bases

• A detail-oriented individual committed to delivering high-quality, consistent work
• An organized and motivated self-starter who is comfortable operating within a Microsoft environment
• Proficient in navigating social media platforms and comfortable speaking to various age groups
• A willingness to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities
• A strong interest in the agricultural industry and a passion for promoting agriculture

• This is a part-time position with up to 20-24 hours per week
• Limited travel primarily within Cherokee County
• Based in Cherokee, Iowa, with programs conducted throughout the county
