Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Golden Heart Companions. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and health-related tasks.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Ensure client safety and well-being by monitoring their condition, reporting changes, and implementing care plans as needed.
  • Assist with household management, including meal planning, grocery shopping, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and activities, providing transportation and support as needed.
  • Document services provided, maintain accurate records, and participate in care team meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of personal care and home management skills, as well as principles and processes for providing client and personal care services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships, teach others, and communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on client-centered care and support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience and certifications preferred.
