Role Summary:
Under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), the Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting patients facing health challenges that hinder their mobility and daily activities. This position focuses on restoring physical function and enhancing mobility while promoting overall health and wellness. Treatment modalities may vary based on client needs and can include in-clinic sessions, teletherapy, or home health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute treatment plans as outlined by Physical Therapists.
- Support PTs in the rehabilitation of patients to improve their physical capabilities for daily living.
- Gather and organize data to evaluate client performance and program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress towards treatment goals, adhering to specified timelines.
- Manage a diverse caseload of clients, either full-time or part-time.
- Foster collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams to enhance client experiences.
- Engage with family members and provide educational resources to facilitate therapy application at home.
- Communicate patient progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and standards.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A degree accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education or a recognized accrediting body by the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy.
• Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Arizona.
• Experience in early intervention for developmental delays or disabilities is advantageous.
• Knowledge of communication disorders is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude are required.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and education in specialized treatment areas.
• Bilingual candidates are highly preferred.
Work Environment:
This role involves various physical activities, including standing, lifting, kneeling, and sitting. The position may require interaction with clients who present mental, physical, or behavioral challenges, including those who may exhibit aggressive behavior.
