About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Archaeological Principal Investigator or Project Archaeologist to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of development projects across the country, performing and directing field studies, desktop reviews, technical studies, and project permitting for private renewable energy and land development clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct background research and field surveys to identify cultural resources
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals to support project development
  • Lead document preparation in a team environment and coordinate with clients and sub-consultants
  • Consult with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with environmental review processes and requirements
  • Direct supervision of field investigations and management of field technicians
  • Prepare scopes and costs for projects as part of business development efforts
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Archaeology/Anthropology
  • Meets Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards in Archaeology
  • Prefer but do not require RPA registrant
  • Ability to perform cultural resources reviews and become permitted for field investigations in multiple states
  • 5-10 years of consulting experience minimum
  • Knowledgeable in North American archaeology and experience in the energy market
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with ability to prepare technical reports and research
  • Familiarity with GPS and GIS applications and software
  • Able to travel for project work on a regular basis
Compensation

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary, with a compensation range of USD $60,000.00/Yr. to USD $85,000.00/Yr.
