Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Early Childhood Substitute Teacher to join our team at the Steamboat Child Care Center. As a substitute teacher, you will support our Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers with the education, supervision, and care of children in our center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support classroom teachers and assistant teachers in providing a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children
  • Perform daily child care duties, including feeding, diapers/potty, and naps, as assigned
  • Help in other classrooms as needed to ensure a smooth operation of the center
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and maintain confidentiality
  • Be prepared to engage children in outdoor activities for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather
  • Work cooperatively on a team with other teaching professionals to provide a positive and supportive environment for children
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of child development and willingness to stay up to date with current best practices
  • Flexibility to care for children of all ages, birth-5 years
  • Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, and other staff members
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under stressful situations
  • Must communicate clearly in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
