ESOL Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified ESOL Teacher to join our team at Charter Schools USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with limited English proficiency, helping them to acquire the language skills necessary to succeed in school and beyond.

• Diagnostic Evaluation: Identify students as Limited English proficient (LEP) and assess their level of English proficiency using standardized test instruments and informal diagnostic tasks.
• Instructional Planning: Develop instructional programs to increase students' acquisition of oral and written communication skills, selecting appropriate materials and media to achieve program goals.
• Instruction: Meet with and instruct students in accordance with schedules, employing instructional media and techniques to promote language acquisition.
• Student Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, implement policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and maintain accurate records as required.
• School and Community Relations: Establish cooperative relations with parents/guardians, communicate with classroom teachers, and provide progress reports on students assigned to the program.

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
• Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience in student instruction.
• Certifications: Possession of valid teaching eligibility in ESOL.
• Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Student Information System (SIS).

The work environment is typical of a school setting, with occasional noise during high student traffic.

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy, and the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.
