Position Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and proficient travel Trauma Emergency Registered Nurse (RN) to enhance our esteemed team. As a Registered Nurse (RN) at WTCP, you will play a crucial role in patient care, striving to improve health outcomes. This unit caters to a diverse patient population, including those affected by COVID-19. The department handles approximately 75,000 adult patients annually, with varying levels of trauma care provided by both ground and air transport. The Adult Emergency Room also accommodates Pediatric Trauma cases, while non-trauma pediatric patients are treated in a designated Pediatric ER.

  • Location: Tulsa, OK
  • Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM with alternating weekend rotations; no blocked scheduling available
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: Anticipated two weeks post-acceptance of offer
  • Holiday Coverage: Required
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Facility: 55-bed Trauma Emergency Center (TEC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive health care records and documentation
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse effects
  • Record vital signs and pertinent medical information
  • Observe, report, and document changes in patient conditions
  • Administer non-intravenous medications as needed
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans

Qualifications:

  • Valid and unrestricted RN state licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a relevant unit
  • Prior experience in 'Trauma' Level I/II settings is highly preferred
  • Additional experience in critical care, progressive care, or med-surg tele is advantageous but not a substitute for ER experience
  • Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIHSS are required
  • TNCC/ENPC certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR is required
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Professional demeanor and friendly attitude
