Job Title: Director of Virtual Design and Construction

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Virtual Design and Construction to join our team at GPAC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of VDC strategies company-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of VDC strategies company-wide, ensuring seamless integration with all phases of construction.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate VDC into pre-construction, construction, and project completion phases.
  • Assist in the pursuit and delivery of design-build projects, leveraging VDC expertise to drive success.
  • Oversee the adoption and utilization of design technologies, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Develop and maintain company-wide standards for VDC processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Research and evaluate new software, tools, and methodologies to stay at the forefront of industry technology.
  • Work closely with related personnel to ensure seamless coordination and execution of VDC processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VDC-related challenges during project development and execution.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of virtual designs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with VDC processes, including potential design clashes, budget overruns, and timeline delays.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding VDC-related inquiries and updates.
  • Present VDC models and processes to clients, ensuring transparency and understanding of project progress and decisions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams to enhance their VDC capabilities.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience leading teams in a VDC, BIM, or related role within the commercial construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, architectural design, and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
