OVERVIEW

Are you an experienced Production Engineer dedicated to enhancing operational processes and achieving excellence? We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer to play a pivotal role in our Performance & Essential Materials division, specifically within our Chlor-Alkali operations.

This position will collaborate closely with the Unit Manager and Operations team to analyze and troubleshoot process functions while gathering essential technical data.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Act as a technical advisor to Production Supervision and Process Operations. Monitor and analyze utility and raw material usage for cost estimation and reduction initiatives.
Provide support to ensure continuous operational functionality, including assistance during unit operational disruptions or turnarounds.
Engage in the commissioning of new process equipment installations.

Coordinate and assist in the implementation of minor modifications to plant systems, including small equipment additions, changes, or deletions, as well as minor process design adjustments.

Oversee and follow up on projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency.
Maintain records on plant operations and key performance indicators.

Offer operational and technical support to project coordinators for significant plant system changes, including operational reviews, cost/benefit analyses, and participation in Hazard Reviews.

Assist in drafting and reviewing Unit Operating Procedures for designated areas of the plant.
Support Process Engineering with plant material balances, yields, closures, project design scope, and other necessary tasks to maintain operations. Conduct process engineering studies and designs for new projects, coordinating with the Engineering Department to ensure project completion.
Assist the Unit Manager in preparing the annual expense budget.
Participate in assigned committees.
Execute special projects and studies as required, including conducting cost/benefit analyses for specific initiatives.
Facilitate internal technical training sessions for operational personnel.
Share weekend on-call duties with other unit staff.
Fill in for the Lead Process Engineer and Unit Manager as needed.
Coordinate and/or conduct monthly plant audits in areas impacting your site.
Perform duties in a manner that prioritizes personal safety and the safety of all personnel on site. Promptly report any Safety, Health, or Environmental incidents to management for resolution. Attend monthly safety meetings to help mitigate off-site and job-related accidents.
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

Fully support the Company's objectives of continuous improvement and operational excellence at both strategic and tactical levels, including reviewing areas of responsibility for improvement opportunities and actively participating in project teams.

This role may require occasional driving of company vehicles.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering
A minimum of five years of experience in refinery or chemical plant process or production roles
Experience in Chlor-Alkali production is preferred.

Additionally, this position involves making general decisions requiring judgment and performing activities that demand sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, primarily based in an office setting.

Some tasks may be performed in operating units, necessitating the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and flame-retardant clothing. This role may also involve exposure to outdoor elements and may require the use of stairs and elevators. Occasional travel, including air and auto travel, may be necessary.
