Job Summary:

As a Senior Speech Therapist with Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing diagnosis and treatment of complex communication disorders for adults and children. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and oversee the work of entry-level staff. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting community programs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and administer diagnostic tests to adults and children with a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects. Provide individualized treatment plans and advise physicians and caregivers on test results.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide training to junior therapists. Participate in developing inservice programs for staff development and monitor the work of contract therapists.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Identify opportunities to contain costs and improve services, and assist with community programs.
  • Work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and possess knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years of previous experience as a Speech Therapist.
  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California), National Provider Identifier, Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate, and Basic Life Support required at hire.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
