Job Summary:

The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Quality Engineer is a critical role within the Textron organization, responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in NDT activities. This position requires a strong background in quality engineering, with expertise in NDT techniques, procedures, and equipment evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement NDT procedures, techniques, and calibration methods for Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Inspection, and Radiography.
  • Evaluate and approve external supplier NDT processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Textron's quality requirements.
  • Conduct internal and external supplier quality system and process assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and administer NDT personnel training and testing programs, ensuring compliance with industry and Textron standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Oversee and administer the onsite Radiation Safety Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering environment, with a strong background in NDT techniques and procedures.
  • ASNT Level III NDT certification in Mag Particle, Penetrant, and Radiography is required.
  • Experience with special process evaluation and quality engineering tasks, such as quality planning, data analysis, and process control.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or a related field.
